Sleeping Beauty: A night time roll on to help you sleep and help you not get sick!

So I have a little girl that keeps getting sick and she is having a hard time sleeping too. Tonight I decided to make her a mixture just for her. I put this mixture in a roller bottle so she can put it on the bottoms of her feet at night after her shower... all on her own! Here is what I put in what I call Sleeping Beauty. You are more than welcome to call this anything you want... I have a princess so I gave it a princess name. Please remember that I only use doTERRA Oils so if you use a different brand I am unsure what your outcome will  be. Yes this mixture is safe for kids, I did not find this hot to the skin but always check before you apply oils to a baby or young child.

Sleeping Beauty

2 drops Melaleuca
2 drops Peppermint
2 drops Frankincense
2 drops White Fir
2 drops Clove Bud
5 drops Eucalyptus
5 drops OnGard
5 drops Breathe
5 drops Oregano
5 drops Lemon
10 drops Lavender

Fill the rest of the bottle with Sweet Almond Oil
I found the almond oil in the natural section.

How To Make Natural Deodorant: Spritz Yo Pitsz

Did you know that deodorant is bad for you? I had no clue until a friend told me about some of the things that they put in it and what it does to your body! I then started to read about it on the internet. Here is some of what I found...

Did you know?

  • Did you know that ALL antiperspirants have aluminum? There is a belief that there are links to Alzheimer's and aluminum... Yes, you are adsorbing this when you use ALL deodorants!
  • Did you know that some antiperspirants have preservatives? If you will not eat preservatives then why put them on your body? Yes this is adsorbing into your blood stream!!
  • Did you know that antiperspirants are a DRUG? Yep, this is true. Antiperspirants are controlled my the FDA... Yes... that makes antiperspirants a over the counter DRUG!
  • Did you know that there is a link to breast cancer? Yes that is right... BREAST CANCER! Right now this is just a link but do you really want to take that chance?

In this blog I will help you make a deodorant spray. This spray is not too girly for a man to use too. I have a friend who loves this spray so much that she puts it in her hair :) yep, it does smell that good!

Spritz Yo Pitsz
Natural deodorant spray

This is so easy anyone can make this product. Please remember that I use doTERRA Oils only. If you are using other brands of oils you might not get the same results.
You can order doTERRA oils here:  http://www.mydoterra.com/wimberly
Alright here we go!

Combine all the ingerdiensts in a small spray bottle (2oz-3oz) I used a 3oz
2 drops of Sandlewood
5 drops of Cypress
5 drops of Lavender
5 drops of Coriander
10 drops of Rosemary

Place all drops in your spray bottle. Fill your spray bottle with Natures Sunshine's Enzyme Spray. Don't have any? Well then do what I did. 1 tablespoon of alcohol (I used Vodka because I am a dork and thought alcohol = Vodka) and fill the rest with Aloe Vera Juice (I found this in the natural section in my local supper market) You can also use Witch Hazel instead of the Aloe Vera Juice if you like. Now every time you use it all you need to do is shake before use.

This recipe is from Laurie Langfitt and Leila Clark. Thank you ladies for loving oils and getting me to love them just as much!

Laundry soap for $35.96

This laundry soap will last about 1 year and only cost $35.96

Her is a very simple laundry soap. This soap will last me about a year if not longer. I like how it washes really clean and smells light. Here is what you will need.

1, 4lb 12oz box of Borax (76oz) I found this in the detergent isle at Walmart for 3.88
1, 4lb box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (1.81kg) found in detergent isle at Walmart for 2.68
1, 3lb 7oz box of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (55oz) found in detergent isle at Walmart for 3.73
3 bars of Fels-Naptha soap found in the detergent isle at Walmart for 1.12 each to total 3.26
l large container of Oxi-Clean (3lbs) found in the detergent isle at Walmart for 8.64
1 VERY large glass container/jar to put finished detergent in. found in cooking isle at Walmart for 11.17
1 scoop need to be a table spoon. I got a set of tablespoons at Walmart in the cooking isle for 2.50
26 drops of doTERRA Wild Orange (optional)
30 drops of doTERRA Purify (optional)

Your total is 35.96! Now remember that I live in Alaska so sometimes you can find these cheaper in your state.

You will also need a trash bag (most of us have these on hand) and a 5 gallon bucket or a large plastic tote.

First you need to grate the Fels-Naptha. I used a handheld cheese grater but feel free to use a food processor if you have one. Yes it will look like cheese :)

Next line your bucket or tote with your trash bag. This is what you will be making your soap in before you put it in your glass jar. After you have done that just toss everything in. Pull your trash bag out (should have your detergent in it and all. Mix around gently try not to make unwanted dust. When finished pour into your glass jar. I made a hole in the corner of the bag and just let it flow through. I thought that it would be easier than trying to poor it. When using the detergent you should only need 1 tablespoon of detergent! Here is what it will look like.

This is a full jar of detergent. Next to it is a container that has 1 tablespoon... See how this will last you for about a year? Remember that is pending on how much laundry you do.
